The World Health Organisation Strategy for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine: Implications for acupuncture practice and research in the UK
The presentation provides an overview of the work of the World Health Organisation on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative medicine. In particular it will cover the WHO Global Strategy for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine 2025-34, WHO Benchmarks for the training and practice of acupuncture, as well as the development of International Classification of Diseases (ICD) codes for Traditional forms of medicine, and the inclusion of Traditional forms of medicine within the International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI) system, and their implications for the practice and research of acupuncture.
In addition, the presentation will provide an overview of ongoing acupuncture research at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine and University of West London.
